As my time here progressed, I spent a relatively significant effort looking into understanding how strong connections to Reverie are formed, and discovered the following three scrolls:

I have been asked if it is possible for a Human to be born with a Reputation, much as Lyra are born with their affinities. This is a frivolous question, because it is intuitively obvious that every person is born with a Reputation based on their parentage and the circumstances of their birth.

Those who ask the question back-peddle and explain that they really mean, is it possible for a Human to be born with a Reputation that they can already command to potent effect, without having to grow and cultivate it.

This is sometimes the case. If a young Human is known by their community for being able to do certain things very naturally without working at them, they may sometimes subconsciously leverage the Reputation into power without being aware of it. The most famous case is that of Valrohna Ogden. Her mother, Delia Ogden, believed that the Pattern compelled her to give birth in her Sanctum in Reverie. Young Val, as she was called, was therefore born with a Reputation for being as connected to Reverie as to Evren. She Dream-Crafted her first imaginary friend, a rabbit named Cody, at age 3.

At the bequest of the Raveler's Circle, I have begun to categorize the types and frequencies of various lyra affinities, in order to help train our members in the best techniques for connecting lyra to their affinities.

Teaching methods for the Plant Affinities and the Animal Affinities are well understood. As these affinities are the most common, I recommend all Ravelers be trained in teaching about them.

However, the Elemental Affinities, and other more esoteric affinities, particularly ones with potential connections to realms besides Evren, often require specific training in an additional area to achieve their full potential. (Though as always, caution should be applied.) Kabir the Radiant, a flame lyra, was the self-trained leader of an elite mercenary company while barely a teenager; imagine how his life might have gone if a Raveler Wizard has found and instructed him early on. Likewise, there are records of prodigy Weavers and Mystics with affinities like Sleep and Hibernation; such students should be found while young and instructed both in their affinity and in their magical discipline in a hybrid fashion.

From the Diary of Raecel Lormae

I have recently been drawn to the idea of individuals pooling their power in order to cooperate in manipulating the fabric of Reverie. I was inspired by the story of Miriam of the of the Falling Leaves kith. The story I heard from a man who claims to be her descendent tells of a kith that was scattered across Evren after a terrible storm which wiped out an fleet of ships on which they had been traveling. Miriam was prophecied by the people who escaped with her in her lifeboat to be able to reunite them all. Reportedly, she found all one hundred lost members of the kith before a year was out. I had a dream about this story, to get an impression of what is truth and what is fiction, from which to guide my future research.

I dreamed of a tree in summer, all its leaves blown off its branches. A small pile of leaves gatheres in a hollow. Several large leaves whirl in a circle, creating an eddy which lifts up one small leaf.

The large leaves fade from bright summer green to an autumn yellow. As they do so, the small leaf turns a brilliant orange. It shines like a beacon, and the eddy currents increase. More large leaves join the cluster. The small leaf gets brighter and brighter, and floats higher and higher. It bursts into flame, and its ashes come to rest on a giant pile of large leaves.
